Feel At Home in Yorktown Virginia...
Visit Riverwalk Landing!

On the shores of the York River in historic Yorktown Virginia you will find Riverwalk Landing a quaint shopping and dining experience.

It is designed like a small village with cute, different shops and restaurants.

Yorktown Virginia, Riverwalk Landing

Some of the shops you should check out are:

  • KINKS & QUIRKS- They sell unique and contemporary handcrafted items. I love this shop. They have a sister shop in Williamsburg.

  • COLONIAL FIBER ARTS- They offer fiber art supplies and handcrafted blankets, linens and floor clothes. If you like yarns and fiber arts you will love this shop.
  • THE YORKTOWN ONION- This store has a unique selection of one-of-a-kind florals, original art and other home accessories.
  • VICCELLIO GOLDSMITH- The master goldsmith at this shop creates really interesting one of a kind distinctive fine jewelry.

There are other very interesting shops but the one's above are my favorites.

While you are visiting Yorktown Virginia and The Riverwalk Landing you will be right on the shores of the York River. There is a small but clean and nice beach that my family loves to visit. You can swim or just enjoy playing in the sand and sun.

    Yorktown Virginia Beach

This is a great place to spend an afternoon. If you wanted you could spend the morning exploring Historic Yorktown and then spend the afternoon eating, shopping and frolicking in the York River.

    Two tips about the beach:

    • The public bathrooms right by the beach are only open during the warm months. Between November and March you will need to use the bathrooms by the parking garage.
    • During August you need to watch for the stinging nettles that invade the rivers all around the area. You can see them from the shore if you look for them. I don't recommend swimming if the stinging nettles are out.

      Restaurant Choices

There are quite a few dining choices right around the Riverwalk Landing area. Keep reading to see my top picks.

      • Riverwalk Restaurant
      • The Rivah Cafe
      • The Yorktown Pub
      • The Waterstreet Landing
      • Island Cafe
      • Ben and Jerry's
      • Green Mountain Coffee Cafe

        MY TOP PICK:

Nick's Riverwalk Restaurant- This is two restaurants in one. There is The Riverfront Dining Room and The Rivah Cafe.

The Riverfront Dining Room is more formal and more expensive but the food is outstanding. This would be a great choice for dinner.

My favorite lunch place is also Nick's Riverwalk Restaurant but it is the less formal Rivah Cafe. It is more casual and sligtly less expensive.

The menu at the Rivah Cafe is full of interesting and well prepared seafood sandwiches and salads. You will be pleasantly surprised.

If you want the whole York River experience try eating on the outside deck.

Nick's Riverwalk Restaurant is owned by the same people who own Berrett's Seafood Restaurant in Williamsburg. Check out my review of Berret's and other Williamsburg Restaurants by clicking here.

This is a great little area to visit for an afternoon of relaxing. The kids will love the beach and you will love the shopping!
